Territories will follow school district boundaries. Choose a school district in your area that you wish to work within. Larger school districts may break down into smaller districts. Identify which district you will recruit within.
Once you have selected your school district, approach school administrators about starting a school sanctioned club. There are state laws and sometimes additional rules at the school district level for establishing a club. Be sure to gather all of the school requirements.
Submit your club plan to your state's Interscholastic BMX League. They will approve your territory, establish rules that you must follow to be a sanctioned club, and will work with you to get your club started.
Once you are approved by your state's Interscholastic BMX League, you should take the approval and other school specific documents to get officially sanctioned by the school or school board.
Advertise your open house at approved schools within your territory. Invite parents and students to attend your Open House. Sending flyers, asking the school to email, attending events with heavy parent attendance will improve your Open House attendance.
Give riders 2 weeks to sign up and pay for your School Race League. Teach riders the basic of riding the track and let the riders start riding at local track races.
